My husband's feet...

God suggested I pray for his feet... let me explain.

Last week we came home from a very busy 10-day AQHA horse show in OKC. When we return there is always gobs of laundry as well bags and coolers that need to be scrubbed!!

Trust me, I ADORE the smell of horses, but the smell that piles up AFTER a show, well, it’s not good. So, here I am sorting my laundry and Brad’s, my wonderful husband who happens to be one of the TOP AQHA All Around trainers, worldwide, and I am digging through his laundry bag and finding his boot socks… and you can imagine…

A little side note, I can’t stand to stick my hands in dirty socks to pull them out before adding to the washer… and have asked, politely, in the past that no socks be left like that for me to handle. Well, as you know none of us are perfect and occasionally a sock of his gets left all scrunched up and yes, because of a little OCD, I have to wash it correctly, not all scrunched up. Anyone else feel my pain?

As I was dealing with this silly little sock issue in my MIND, I heard the sweet, gentle voice of the Holy Spirit encouraging me in my HEART to shift my paradigm …
instead of grumbling about his socks not being opened up so I don’t have to stick my hand in them to fix, He suggested I change my heart and be THANKFUL for all the years of great foot health that Brad has already experienced in 52 years because of our good God!

Recognizing that God has protected his feet while years and years of horse training…. plus, to pray for continuation of protection of his feet… Afterall, we need great foot health for the rest of our lives! AMEN!

Well, to keep this super short… I immediately changed my attitude and prayer…

I mean when the Holy Spirit convicts your heart… it is imperative that we LISTEN and OBEY!

BTW, it brought JOY to my heart to do laundry and straighten out his socks!!

and I am sure my wonderful, thoughtful husband will continue to do his very best to pull his socks off in a way that won’t scrunch them up for me in the future… 😁

I shared this interesting prayer with Brad to encourage him and bless him. Maybe this MINUTES MESSAGE will encourage you to change the way you handle something that seems insignificant in life, something that you do for others that while doing it, you may be grumbling.. but the Holy Spirit will convict (not condemn) and show you a different way of thinking about it, handling the job and praying through it for yourself or for others!

The image below is my first WIN photo with HUEY (registered name AINT OVER YET)- he is coming along slowly; we’ve had him for a year now and he is finally allowing us to get in the show pen!

Brad is sitting on the chair… these two wooden chairs are the ‘Circuit Champion’ awards we received at this show for winning the circuits in each of the following events. Each circuit had multiple days to show and whoever placed the highest, earning the most points wins the circuits.

We won ‘Level 1 Select Hunt Seat Equitation’ and ‘Level 1 Select Showmanship at Halter’.
