HI Friends!
As I read through the Old Testament chronologically in 2023 I received tons of nuggets in the stories and verses from old that are now part of my prayers.
For instance, check the following ‘complaint’ Moses had when the Lord was directing him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt to the promised land.
Can you believe Moses was telling God why he couldn’t lead the people? I am mean .. really!! Who would ever try to tell God that you couldn’t do something or weren’t equipped!! Ummm… TRUTH BOMB!!! ME!!!
Is this something you have ever done too?
Just think, us telling our creator that He made us defective for a job He has made us to do? I mean, who do we think we are?
Exodus 4
10 Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”
11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
Let’s face the facts, sometimes trusting God to help us when we feel inadequate is tough… but we CAN and should trust that if God is asking us to do ‘it’ … IT will always be worth our time in the end being obedient.
And we can be sure that these moments aren’t JUST FOR US… He typically uses our stories and obedience for others benefits too. And we know that by being obedient we will be building our treasures in heaven… had to drop this in as some extra love!!
Matthew 6:20
“But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:”
God is so good to us … not only does He help us when we think or feel incapable, but He is faithful to teach us along the way too and always has good planned for us as we press in to Him and His ways.
Thank you, God for giving us the Word- that Your direction from 1000s of years ago, given to a man named Moses, can help a gal like me this many years forward!
Just to wrap up this Minutes message, go back to vs. 12— Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
Friends, this is fantastic news!!
Let’s use this to motivate ourselves and others around us daily and remind ourselves that He is faithful to help and teach each of us, as we follow His lead, down the narrow path He has created us to walk upon.
Thank you for joining me on this journey of Radiant Living and learning about the Word together.
