GOAT vs SHEEP
I know which one I want to be called... do you?
Has anyone else noticed that over the last few years the words GOAT and SHEEP have been used more than ever on social media & news, referencing athletes, entrepreneurs and even politicians?
In all of my 49/50 years of life I cannot recall them being used like they are now..
Over the last 5 years I see the following:
GOAT (Greatest of all Time)
&
SHEEP(LE) (sheeple (plural noun) derogatory- people compared to sheep in being docile, foolish, or easily led: “by the time the sheeple wake up and try to change things, it will be too late”
Yes, even I have been called GOAT from adoring and doating fans of my bodybuilding and fitness career from time to time.
I realize that 99.9% of all people that use the word, GOAT, have the best intentions and most likely have never considered how the WORD compares goats and sheep.
Besides turning the word GOAT into a GOOD thing to be denoted as, the word SHEEP has been applied as derogatory.
With this in mind, let’s take a look at what the Word says with the comparison...
For instance, The Judgment of the Sheep and Goats, found in Matthew 25:31-46, illustrates the final judgment where individuals are separated based on their actions towards others, particularly the needy. (I believe this to be needy both physically and spiritually).
The passage describes a future event when the Son of Man (Jesus Christ our Messiah and Savior/Kinsman Redeemer/Restorer/ returns in glory, accompanied by angels, to judge all nations.
In this judgment, people are separated as a shepherd separates SHEEP from GOATS.
The SHEEP, representing the righteous, are placed on the right, while the GOATS, representing the unrighteous, are placed on the left.
(Please recognize I am NOT making a comparison to left/right politically- this is purely what scripture demonstrates about goats/sheep and where they line up in this event as Jesus, our only Righteous Judge judges... remember He was resurrected and is currently sitting at God’s RIGHT Hand in the Throne room of Heaven.. ) 💞
Hmmm... now, after reading just this one example in scripture can anyone prove to me why we should want to be named/called or defined as a GOAT?
Based on this example, I would like to remain defined as a SHEEP, the way Jesus calls His SHEEP…
Maybe you also receive the ‘verse of the day’ that came in this morning.. which reminded me of this comparison.
Interesting to me how the enemy is so good at changing up words, meanings, phrases and if we aren’t careful to READ and FOLLOW His Word, we can be led astray as well lead others too.
John 10:7, 9-10 (NIV)
Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.
Let’s get out there and put in a good word for those of us that want to remain SHEEP!
Live Radiantly… today!

I've just recently been delving into the bible and different gospel shows on TV and came across the story of the shepherd who leaves his 99 sheep to look for the one that is lost. I recall thinking hmm.. here all this time I've been referring to the 'sheep(le)' who were easily herded/going along with the crowd likely because it was easier than thinking for themselves.
I shall have to consider revising my use of the term.
Are you an earthly sheep or a Heavenly sheep perhaps?
The term black sheep is considered an outlier ... I suppose for now I'll go with that.
An Outlier I am. ^_^
I want to be a sheep also. Ps 23, the Lord is my shepherd and I shall not lack... the "made up words today" is due to a lack of knowledge about the Lord and His Word. If the Bible was still a foundational teaching platform, there would be less careless words and language. Thank you for the fun comparison in your message!
