Hi Friends- I pray you all had a wonderful day yesterday and were able to celebrate the Veterans in your life.
I thought to share an easy way I have learned to utilize scripture to pray for myself or anyone who may need prayer that God has placed on my heart.
And we know that prayers can only work if we actually take the time to say them.. and what are prayers again? Simply stated- talking to God!
Spoiler alert—
He already knows what we need and how we are feeling but he wants us to communicate with him so He can show us how much He loves us by answering our prayers and directing us through the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
Much like a parent desires their child to communicate with them, is how I understand our Father in Heaven feels towards us.
With this thought I’ve discovered that sometimes it SEEMS challenging to ‘know what to say’- does that sound like something you have said before too? It can’t just be me..
What I am going to show you in the next few minutes is a simple way to pray USING God’s Word, kinda of like a ‘cheat sheet’- although we can’t cheat with God, He knows our every thought and corner of our heart… but using His Word can feel like that, it almost seems to easy. But good thing we don’t go by our feelings, right?! And He DID give us His Word to use and learn from.. sooo what are we waiting for?
Read on to find a sample of how to READ God’s Word and APPLY it as a prayer.
This in turn helps us grow closer to Him and plant the Word deeper in our hearts.

Thanksgiving & Prayer for a believer —fill in the blanks with a name of someone you know needs prayer of encouragement!
3 I always thank God, the Father of my Lord Jesus Christ, when I pray for _____, 4 since I heard of her/his faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that she/he has for all the saints,
5 because of the hope laid up for her/him in heaven.
Of this she/he has heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, 6 which has come to her/him, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among her/him, since the day she/he heard it and understood the grace of God in truth,
7 just as, ______, learned it from _______ (fill in this part or maybe it’s YOU who has shared the Gospel with this person, and you are discipling them now?!).
9 And so, from the day I heard, I have not ceased to pray for ______, asking that she/he may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 being strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy;
12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified _______ to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
13 You, Father, have delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of Your beloved Son,
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Your Jesus’s Powerful name, Amen

Thank you for _______ (your Pastor, your family member, your friend, your spouse- whoever has ministered to you and increased your faith) who has helped me learn about You, Father.

My prayer is that you are taking advantage of scripture while you can.. let’s not be lazy or deceived that we have all the time in the world to read it. We all know life ticks by fast and we need Him more than ever.
Isaiah 55
6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
7 let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
